Gray Addresses Unaffiliated Voters

Press Release

Date: Oct. 24, 2010

While talking to voters after a candidate forum in Tonganoxie Saturday, Andrew Gray addressed the 484,133 unaffiliated registered voters in Kansas.

"I understand why you are unaffiliated," says Gray. "You have chosen to leave the establishment parties because you are tired of politics-as-usual; because you are tired of the political bickering and finger-pointing that has become the norm in American politics. You are part of the 28% of Kansas voters who have been left politically homeless by the extreme stances of the establishment parties. You are looking for a new political home, and I believe the Libertarian Party of Kansas is that home."

Gray pointed out that only two groups of registered voters have gained membership in the last two years: Unaffiliated and Libertarians. According to Gray, that's because most Kansans are Libertarians at heart. He says that Kansans want to be treated like adults capable of deciding what is best for themselves, their families and their communities. That, he says, is the core of Libertarian principles.

Gray went on to challenge unaffiliated voters. "As this election approaches, those who desperately want to maintain the status-quo will tell you that voting for Andrew Gray is a wasted vote. Those same people have been telling you that for years, because they know that if just 5% of Kansas voters vote with courage for real change, the political landscape of Kansas will be altered forever. When 5% of Kansas voters cast their vote for my team, Kansas will give birth to a third major political party…and that's the last thing career politicians want to see. Do not let them lie to you again. This year, look them in the eye and tell them: "My vote has been wasted on you for decades, because the change you promise never actually happens.' This year, you must vote with courage. This year, make your vote count by casting it for the Andrew Gray for Governor Team."
